Friends
This photo was taken on the graduation trip of my language school. These friends were my first classmates when I came to Australia. Although, we just studied together for three months, I think this photo can represent our friendship.

University life
I took this photo on Nathan campus of Griffith. Some people were waiting for the bus after classes, and some people were going to class.

Summer
I took this photo on the graduation trip of my language school as well. Before, I read a book, said ‘summer is vacations’. So I still believe that summer can represent the vacations, it is summer memories. That’s why I choose this photo to represent ‘SUMMER’.

Unconventional
For me, I think this photo can be an unconventional picture. I downloaded it from internet. It can be an irony, because this picture satirizes the government system. The word ‘police’ is obvious, and satirical. It shows the corruption of government and ignorant of citizens.

A search engine is a software program that searches for sites based on the words that you designate as search terms.

2 How do search engines rank the stuff they find on the internet?
Search engine shows how many characters the search engines display from a title tag. This is not the same as the maximum length a title tag can be. It simply shows how many characters from the tag will actually be displayed. If there is no title, search engines typically form their descriptions from the first text they find on a web page, or from the meta description tag, if they support it. MY COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

Communication and technology are related to our everyday life nowadays. With technology developing, all kinds of communication technology came out. For example, before, there was just one kind of chatting system we can use on-line. However, now, we can use many kinds of chatting system, MSN, Skype and QQ, to communicate with friends and family.

Another fact is that internet is becoming more popular in our life. Now, it is hard to image that how can people live without internet. For me, I started to use internet when I was a junior high school student. On that time, new communication technology was restrained from tradition. But, internet has gained in popularity over recent years. For me, internet has become the most useful of communication technology in my life. Because I am an international student, so internet becomes a tool which I use to communicate with my family and friends everyday. Also, I always check my courses information and select information on-line. I have set my msn space to show my pictures and diary with my friends. So my friends can know my situation wherever I am, and I can show my ideas on-line. I think, now, internet has become the greatest space to show people’s ideas. Also, I often use internet, e-mail, to contact with my friends and family. But, there are many people like using letters to communicate with people, rather than internet, because internet is related to the problem of privacy. A research argues that there is no privacy on internet. People can check your email any time, but you don’t know. So sometimes, I think traditional way is safer than new communication technology.

Now, mobile is popularized in our life. I don’t need to spend much time to find a telephone booth, because I can take mobile anywhere. I can use mobile, especially in emergency, to contact with my friends and family.

NEW SEMESTER!

Hi, everyone! I am Briana. I come from China. This is the first year of my uni life.So for me, uni life is attractive and challenging, because English is my second language. But I will do my best to improve my English.


Before I took the lecture, I thought that the major point of this class was about theory knowledge. However, now, I think the class of communication and technology is theory combines with practice. For example, the second lecture talked about media theory, and in the tutorial, tutor taught us how to use the media---creating weblog.



I think communication studies is the one of the most in common use to our everyday life. We use internet to show our ideas, selcet information and chat with friends. We use mobile to communicate with friends and family as well. These things are a part of communication and technology studies. So I think communication technology studies are a process of transfering information to other people by using scientific machines.



In the future, I want to work in the broadcaster company. Broadcaster companies are to use technology to transfer information that people can watch films, programs and advertising at home from TV. So I think communication studies are the most important knowledge in media area.
